The European Paganini Route has been certified as a “Council of Europe Cultural Route”

The European Paganini Route was officially certified as a “Council of Europe Cultural Route” during the plenary session of the Governing Board of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe (EPA), held in Luxembourg from May 5 to 7, 2026.
This is an important international recognition that honors the cultural, artistic, and European value of the legacy of Niccolò Paganini, a symbolic figure of 19th-century European music and culture, as well as the work carried out by the international network that promoted the nomination.

The European Paganini Route was created with the aim of highlighting the figure and artistic legacy of Niccolò Paganini, the renowned Genoese violinist and composer who, through his international tours and innovative musical vision, made a decisive contribution to the construction of a shared European cultural identity.
The route promotes music as a tool for dialogue among people, connecting cities, theaters, conservatories, cultural institutions, universities, festivals, and local governments linked to the places the Maestro visited throughout his life and artistic career.

The European Paganini Route network currently involves 10 European countries: Italy, Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, France, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Hungary, serving as an international platform dedicated to promoting culture, cultural mobility, sustainable tourism, and European cooperation.

The “Cultural Route of the Council of Europe” certification is one of the most prestigious European awards in the field of cultural and territorial promotion, awarded to transnational networks that promote the values of the Council of Europe through shared paths of memory, heritage, art, and common identity.
